The entertainment of tomorrow begins with HDTV. By viewing HDTV, one can experience a one of a kind theatre-viewing experience. The extreme detail, excellent digital superiority, progressive scanning and the wide viewing area help an HDTV it to score far superior over the analog TVs.

The debate as well the option of choosing analog TV over HDTV stems back to the year 1987, when a statement issued by FCC (Federal Communications Commission) stated that all analog televisions are going to become obsolete. It was the Japanese, first, that developed a high definition television and the US wanted to surpass Japanese innovation. Thus it was the wave of digital HDTV that soon created ripples in the technology industries of the world.

The digital signal offers greater flexibility and is more efficient. It is virtually free from any sort of interferences and provides crystal clear picture. The most important and unique feature is the picture resolution of analog televisions. This makes the images sharper. More pixels always imply sharper pictures.

Again, the aspect ratio of HDTV is pretty much higher; it is almost 16:9 as compared to an analog TV where it is 4:3. This simply means that the screen is 4 units wider 3 units higher.

Next will be color resolution. HDTVs have superior color resolution because the High Definition Television broadcasts have screen resolutions sharper than the conventional broadcasts. The lines of resolution in HDTV are double as compared to analog television. An analog set can display only 525 lines of resolution while the HDTV broadcasts can display 1080 lines of resolution. Imperfections cannot be seen in HDTV, while most commonly found with analog televisions.

The problems such as double imaging, picture sparkle from impulse noise and many more such imperfections that occur in analog television, has become passe’ with HDTV. The analog television set works on a 6 Mhz signal. The horizontal resolution is around 500 dots for a color set. But in case of HDTV the pixel density is higher and makes it the best choice to view crystal clear images. The clarity in HDTV is possible because the digital signal is noise-free and crystal clear.

The digital sound of HDTV is much better than analog TV. Almost all HDTV programs use Dolby Digital Sound and the format is used to create the best cinematic experience. Its finest acoustics can make you really feel the pleasures of a Home Theater. HDTV sets come in numerous styles and sizes. The choice ranges from LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), plasma, DLP (Digital Light Processing) or LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) monitors.

So jet set to indulge into the latest technology of digital wave entertainment.

If you decided to have a transformation on your television viewing, you need to bring home the waves of digital signal in the form of the latest High Definition Television also known as HDTV.

There are quite a few things that you need to consider before buying a new or used HDTV. Remember it’s a big purchase for most people and it’s not something you should rush into without doing some research. Its most likely something you will use every day. I see people doing research on cars for months at a time and then just going out and buying a HDTV for four thousand dollars without even a thought if they are getting a quality set. Some panels are even made at the same factories in Japan and China but rebranded.

First off, the size of the TV screen is a factor that should be considered. The idea that bigger is better is not always true. The perfect screen size will depend on the distance at which you plan to sit and watch the television. It is important that you should keep in mind the viewing area while purchasing the HDTV. Although it is tempting to buy a big screen one should have a large space to enjoy it as the distance between where you sit and where the HDTV is placed is very important. So the most important is the right room when you want to enjoy big television.

The next factor for contemplation is which one to buy. Should it be a LCD or Plasma. If you are looking for something that should be small in size say 40-inch screen size or so, then it is advisable to go for LCD. Large Plasma TV’s begin with screen size of 50-inch and more. Viewing LCD in a well-lit room is always advisable but just check out on the color resolution of Plasma. It looks so natural and vibrant. It really is a hard choice now that LCD is starting to catch plasma TV’s in size.

The most important of all is the pixel density that you should be considering. You can view the 780p and be amazed with the picture quality but you would feel thrilled to watch the 1080p image. It is much crisper and sharper. The only thing that you need to think on is whether you can shelve out the extra cost for 1080p. If so, then do not hesitate to take home 1080p HDTV. You should also look out for if the TV set can do high refresh rates like 120hz. A high refresh rate is great for watching any action sports and makes the picture look a lot more stable.

Additionally, you simply need to check on if your HDTV has ATSC tuners. The ATSC tuners are internal components that allow you to view high definition content broadcast without paying anything additional. Last but not the least is that if your HDTV does not have a worthy sound system, then it is of no use. High Definition viewing is wonderful but it would be great if combined with the best acoustics as well.

So, if you decide to buy a HDTV do your due diligence properly. Get to know these and then venture out to make an informed decision to enjoy viewing pleasure from HDTV.

As the HDTV craze is getting hotter and technology is metamorphosing the way we watch television. It is designed to project the sun’s glare out of the viewing angle such that the same can be watched during any weather. These TVs can operate in extreme temperatures too and are rain, dust, wind and snow shielded.

Mitsubishi is on the line to launch its new products of HDTVs. It is to come with thinner frames and brighter DLP models. It is to introduce 73-inch 1080p DLP HDTV sets. The sets are also said to be 3-D ready. The availability of these sets will be in a huge range of colors that have never before been seen in home entertainment.

There is Sharp’s 52-inch 1080p LCD is also a great HDTV to have it at home. It can be counted in the list of elite flat-panel HDTVs. The image of the LCD is truly unique and the black levels were superb and outclassed many of its competitors.

Panasonic’s Plasma HDTVs are also getting plenty of attention. It delivers very good picture and sound quality is the best in this category of HDTV. It is a flat-screen TV and has 1080 p resolution.

So know your requirement and buy the one that meets it.

Philips 42PFL5603D 42 INCH LCDOne of the most impressive Green HDTVs launched this year at CES electronics super show. It was the Philips 42PFL5603D 42-inch LCD that stole the show which promptly won the “Best In Show” award. The Philips 42PFL5603D not only looks great but it will easily stand apart from the general looking HDTVs. It packs a very serious punch with features and specifications behind it’s good looks. With a full HD 1080p LCD screen for a full 1920×1080 pixels for the very highest HD format then add the boost the lowest power consumption for a HDTV this size by far. Philips is calling this new line of televisions Eco TV’s, as they are very energy efficient, by using just 75 watts during operation, and only 0.15 watts during standby. An average HDTV of this size, or even smaller typically uses anywhere between 175-300 watts.

You can also feel safe that other environmentally friendly features include lead free components and recycled packaging. Back before there were plasma screen and liquid crystal display (LCD) tubes, we were all watching our hockey games and soaps on cathode ray tubes CRT models. The CRT model provided room for all your switches and wires in a box behind the screen, but it also stored a lot of lead with philips new approach this will no longer be the case.

Approximately 20 % of CRT TV’s are comprised of lead, equivalent to between four and eight pounds per unit. New standards will soon require all televisions to run a digital signal by February 19, 2009 so we could be looking at a lot of lead headed for landfills. Even the smallest amounts of lead can be a serious issue, and we’re talking about eight pounds of lead per tv.

The new plasma TV’s feature the exclusive Touch of Color design. While its nothing really technical it adds a hint of color that is naturally blended into the frame ending with a really stunning look. The SAMSUNG PN58A650 offers much more than style and good looks. You will enjoy bold colors, amazing picture clarity, and true very close to life images. Its just stunning how good it looks. Your movies and TV shows will come to life with the 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. Thats a whole lot of zeros. And with a 100,000 hour panel life, you’ll enjoy your SAMSUNG plasma HDTV for years to come. We will be reviewing this TV shortly. We are currently waiting for our review copy. While our review copy won’t be the 58 inch it will be the [ PN50A650 ] 50” widescreen plasma HDTV and i think thats big enough as it is.

Now that Samsung is coming out with the PN58A650 any day now. It will be the replacement for the 58A550. The FP-T5884 is a bit older model. It may be somewhat confusing since both are listed on the Samsung site. If you were thinking of getting the Panasonic Th-58PZ700U you may just want to wait untill you see the PN58A650 in person.

A first look at the Samsung HL-T5689S. Thanks to a new technology samsung now has a long-lasting LED light engine, the full HD 1920 x 1080p picture of the HL-T5689S DLP HDTV will last as long as the set. This is truly amazing the HL-T5689S also comes with a ultra thin, piano black bezel like a lot of samsungs monitors. The huge 56″ screen lets you enjoy more screen and less frame. Its slim and sleek depth, light weight and truely hidden speaker system allow the set to fit where other tv sets just won’t. I can’t wait to get a look at this new samsung set myself. Samsung’s Cinema Smooth light engine delivers a crazy bright range of brilliant vibrant colors and with a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio that can render every picture in next to perfect detail, from the darkest blacks to brightest whites, and every color tone in between. It comes stacked with three HDMI inputs in version 1.3 to render your digital movies, photos and more with greater color depth, while a USB 2.0 ( sorry no firewire) port and other inputs allow full device connectivity. The HLT generation of Samsung DLP HDTVs are capable of displaying future 3D games, movies, and other programming via 3D compatible glasses and hardware. So if your a big Stereo3D fan like i am you will love this tv. If you never played a Stereoscopic race car game with special nvidia drivers and glasses on your computer. You really don’t know what your missing. This TV sounds like a great all-in-one and it will last the test of time. It seems like we are seeing LED light technology more and more everyday and its for the better.
